We as designers work to produce ways to make life more convienient and environmentally sustainable. It's only fair to say that we also design products for ourselves that make our design process more efficient in time, material, and thought. Architectural computing software has given a new face to the way we apply ourselves analytically to design projects, wheteher for better or worse.
After reading the article, I developed new appreciations for the evolution of design technology. Knowing that early approaches to computing design originated in departments of universities inspires me to explore the possibilities of designing programs that fit the unique needs of my generation of designers. This idea also refersback to the subject of innovating technological design material by gradually assessing obstacles faced by specific designers at specific times.
Out of all that has changed, simple clean geometry is still a major focus when producing clean designs. Whether computing, or manually rendering designs, knowing that the basics of design have not completely changed comforts me. In our journey to develop, we can't forget where we started.
